The Bauers came over from Germany at the request of
        Dr F A Sienknecht
as part of the German settlement of Morgan County.  
Four families came and paid their way via agreeing to work for
Dr. F A Sienkneckt for one year.  
 
Casper Bauer worked for Dr. F A Seinkneckt for three years to pay for
his and his families passage.
 
The Bauers lived next to Neergaard Island - see
    Neergaard Cemetery
located on the banks of the Tennessee River in Crestwood/Kingston TN.
